SURROUNDING TOWNS/VILLAGES

The quaint village of Ruswarp is half a mile away. Its railway station lies on the Whitby to Middlesbrough Line, which connects with the steam railway from Grosmont to Pickering, via Goathland (Heartbeat Country).
Ruswarp has the following shops: postoffice / newsagent / general store, grocer and butcher.
Other local shops can be found in the nearby village of Sleights.

Two miles away is the historic fishing port of Whitby , with its old cobbled streets, fascinating harbour and popular beach stretching between the harbour piers and Sandsend village. It offers a wide range of shops and restaurants including a large supermarket, which hosts the main postoffice of the area.

The North York Moors National Park with its hundreds of acres of moorland and many tranquil
towns and villages, begins only a few minutes drive away from the cottage.

A few miles north of Whitby is the beautiful coastal village of Staithes which is an old fishing community, a very picturesque place with several shops and places to visit.

Please view the map for the geographical location of the villages.
