Ruswarp is a small village on the River Esk. It has a few shops, postoffice and a pub near the bridge which crosses the river Esk. Even though Ruswarp is more than a mile inland, the Esk is a tidal river up to the weir, which can just be seen on the photograph on the right. The middle photograps shows the Whitby to Middlesbrough railway line.
